Ashley Dupre getting Mixed reactions from Record Labels

Ashley Alexandra Dupré, the 22-year-old aspiring singer who was Eliot Spitzer's favorite call girl, is now being represented by music manager Jerry Blair. Blair had previously handled Mariah Carey's comeback and now reps singer Mika, according to the NYDailyNews gossip columnist Ben Widdicombe.

"Ashley has a delicate situation," a source told Widdicombe. "She can't do anything that generates income until she works out a deal" over potential charges.

So far, Dupre has received a mixed reaction from music labels that Blair's has been shopping her around to, according to NYDN. But since some of today's biggest pop stars have become successful without great singing chops (e.g., Madonna, Britney Spears), Dupre's recent notoriety could be a boon for a blossoming music career. Hey...you never know.

Separately, disgraced ex-Gov. Spitzer has been offered an initial bid of $350,000 to pen a memoir, reports AHN News. Peter Elkind, a writer for Fortune, proposed the book, but Spitzer's agent, Liz Darhansoff, declined to confirm the price.

Many aren't convinced the book would generate much interest, now that the scandal has faded somewhat from the public's memory. "The book will get a lot of ink, if not sales," Sara Nelson, editor of Publishers Weekly told NYDN. "The question is that, by the time it comes out, will people have read everything they need to know in the tabloids and other papers?" Good question.
